All that you do not know – does not exist!

Tonight I’m going to pick up one supreme device for sound processing. I musn’t reveal much because it is illegal type of action, „all that you do not know – does not exist“ 🙂 One day, in the memoirs of an obsessive music maniac, I will reveal  all the mysterious ways which we had walked during the creation of this album.

MP1 is complicit in this murky „loan“ for higher artistic goals. And he is already a man in years – not nice to be found in jail. Already, I have itchy fingers out of impatience when I imagine a series of buttons with which I am going to play. I recalled the story of the Sex Pistols-who have been at the forefront of the David Bowie concert -patiently waiting for the band and stage workers to turned their heads away to be able to snatch the microphone. What they, actually, managed to do. If this is not a passion for music then I do not know what it is.

Sve što ne znate – ne postoji!

Večeras idem da pokupim jedan vhunski uređaj za obradu zvuka. Ne smem mnogo da razotkrivam jer je u pitanju prava ilegalna akcija: “ sve što ne znate – ne postoji“ 🙂 Jednog dana, u memoarima opsesivnog muzičkog manijaka,  razotkriću sve misteriozne puteve kojima smo šetali dok smo stvarali ovaj album.

MP1 je saučesnik u ovoj mutnoj „pozajmici“ zarad viših umetničkih ciljeva. A on je već čovek u godinama – nije zgodno da se nađe u zatvoru. Već me svrbe prsti od nestrpljenja dok zamišljam niz dugmića sa kojima ću da se igram. Podsetio sam se priče o Sex Pistols-ima koji su bili u prvim redovima na koncertu David Bowie-ja – strpljivo čekajući da bend i binski radnici okrenu glave da bi mogli da maznu mikrofon. Što su na kraju i uspeli da urade. Ako to nije strast prema muzici onda ne znam šta jeste.

Moving

We have moved. Renting space in Bigz has become luxury that (in this situation), we can no longer afford. The final part of the album will be done  at my crib. If Moby can record albums in his bedroom so can we 🙂

LovBoy and I were torn apart on the weekend by moving stuff, but once again we confirm that we are great tandem. We could earn some $ working  part-time as toilers.  Without a hint of nervousness we succeeded to pack and move a half- tone of equipment and furniture.

Soon, I will take a couple of MP1 excellent devices for the production of sound and with them start to do a more serious sound processing. For now, I am still playing with the possibilities – I test a variety of sound images in an attempt to understand the essence of each song in context of production. Big advantage of working at home is an espresso coffee!

Selidba

Preselili smo se. Iznajmljivanje prostora u Bigz-u je postao lukzus koji (u ovoj situaciji) više ne možemo sebi da priuštimo. Završni deo rada na albumu će se odvijati kod mene na gajbi. Ako Moby može da snima svoje albume u spavaćoj sobi možemo i mi 🙂

LovBoy i ja smo se otkinuli za vikend od seljenja stvari, ali još jednom smo potvrdili da smo odličan tandem. Mogli bi da honorarno zaradimo neku kintu kao fizički radnici. Uspeli smo bez trunke nervoze da spakujemo i prenesemo jedno pola tone opreme i nameštaja.

Uskoro uzimam od MP1 par odličnih sprava za produkciju zvuka i onda tek krećem u ozbiljniju obradu zvuka. Za sada se još uvek igram sa mogućnostima  – isprobavam razne zvučne slike pokušavajući da shvatim srž svake pesme u kontekstu produkcije.Velika prednost rada kod kuće je espresso kafa!

Nervousness and tension

We started to work on  mix. Million of choices – a million ways – it needs a lot of  thinking. Especially when you’re dealing with a complex form of music that leans toward total music. It is necessary to find a compromise between the original sound and its sound processing. How much to cut? How much to leave? To shorten or to completely delete?Add or subtract?

Sometimes it seems to me that we want to much to say in the creation of just one song. I minimize as much as I believe it is necessary, but again, after that,  there are 40-60 channels per song waiting on the screen. I feel that mixing will take a little longer than I am wishing for.

We have been caught by negative energy. Nervousness and tension. Suddenly. From nowhere. Like weather disasters. Somehow, the album will be brought to an end. And whether we survive it i really don’t know. Sometimes a touch of luck is needed to resolve some crisis in a positive direction.
